Vintage Christmas Monday

As you know, this is my first Christmas in Blogland. Wow, there are so many wonderful things going on right now like parties, home tours, giveaways etc.. It is so exciting! I'm not a full-time blogger but I seriously could spend all of my time oohing and ahhing at all of my blog buddy's blogs. Don't you think Christmas makes all of our blogs a little prettier?  Today is Joan's 'Vintage Christmas' party.I have been looking forward to this all week. I don't have a whole lot of vintage Christmas goodies unfortunately...but I DO know where to get borrow them! MOM'S HOUSE!! My mom has so many fabulous treasures! I don't know if she even remembers all the great things she has in the cabinets, drawers and closets. Do you think I should remind her? Nah...she'll just hide them again. {haha.} No seriously, if you knew just how capable I was of destroying ANYTHING, you would not invite me to your house. I can't help it. Mrs.M let me know on Saturday night that my brain doesn't move as fast as my hands but if I slowed down, it would give my brain time to catch up to my hands.} This is what I want to show you...

I've mentioned before how wonderful I thought Nana was.
Well one of her hobbies was painting ceramics. This is a plate that she made in the early 1950's.

I love this plate and would love to use it but I would cry, cry, cry if somebody I broke it.

Ho! Ho! Ho! These are 2 Santa Claus mugs that Nana made. I think their faces are just precious.

 I just love them.

I am so glad that she signed it and dated it. I wish she would have done this with the boxes of OLD OLD OLD people!

This is the 1st Norma Lee {Nana to me} and my dad Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree in 1960.  Do you see what's in the back over my dad's shoulder? The mugs! They're over on the buffet!

{This is my Uncle Charles in 1958...do you the mugs?}
Speaking of Christmas fun in Blogland, today I will be posting my Home Tour at The  Nester's 'Tour of Homes' and Thrifty Decor Chic's 'O Christmas Tree' party, as well as Joan's 'Vintage Christmas' party. Come join us!

  10. Oh my goodness, Nana made some really wonderful things! I absolutely love that plate and those mugs! Maybe you could put them away in a hutch, so they wouldn't get broken? It would be so nice if you could have them at your home! And that picture of your Nana and Dad is fabulous!

  15. That is so awesome that you have those things! I have this really old yard santa that my dad has had forever. Well, at least I thought I had it. We've moved two times since it was given to me and now sadly, I have no idea where it is. :(
    Stopping by to say hello from SITS!
